How bullion is quoted
Every quote begins at the live market for that metal, times the verified weight and fineness of what is on the counter. Hallmarked product earns the closest spread purely because nothing has to be proven first.
Size counts. A meaningful position prices better than a handful of odds and ends, and platinum and palladium are quoted off their own markets, which frequently move opposite gold and silver on any given day.

Yes, both, quoted against their own markets rather than gold and silver. They are also the two most commonly overlooked things sitting in a safe.
What about unmarked bars and generic rounds?
Bought on metal content the same as anything else. A known hallmark only shortens the testing, and everything gets verified regardless.
